In 1937, when Vince Lombardi played football at Fordham University, he and his teammates ran up an unprecedented string of 25 straight victories. Their opponents went scoreless in many of the games. The Fordham front line, with Lombardi as an anchor, became known as the "Seven Blocks of Granite."
In honor of the original Seven Blocks of Granite, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation started an endowment fund in 1988. The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation’s Blocks of Granite recognize those who have made significant contributions to cancer research and patient care.
With deep pride and appreciation, the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation acknowledges our current Blocks of Granite donors.
We invite you to become a Block of Granite - the bedrock upon which the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation will move forward. A Block of Granite contribution is $60,000 over five years and is fully deductible as a charitable contribution. The Patron Blocks of Granite program begins at $5,000.
