CELEBRATING $8 MILLION AND COUNTING

The Lombardi Southwest Open carries forward the legacy of the MJ Cancer Free Golf Event in Grapevine, Texas beginning in 2001.

Founded by Paul “Mo” Moline and Jim Round, the MJ Event raised money for children’s cancer research through a national network of family, friends and business leaders. In 2021, Mo and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation transformed the MJ Event into a new tradition in Arizona—the Lombardi Southwest Open. 

Together, the MJ Event and the Lombardi Southwest Open have now surpassed $8 million raised to support families impacted by cancer, a milestone that represents thousands of golfers, sponsors, volunteers and supporters coming together for 25 years. 

Event proceeds have funded programs at Phoenix Children’s, Texas Children’s Hospital, Aurora Health Care, and more.
