Jayden's Story

“If I had a superpower, I would choose to be invisible so that I could hide from cancer and not have to have it,” said Jayden

Earlier this year, Jayden was a normal 10-year-old from Birmingham who spent his days playing with friends, splashing in the pool and playing sports. When Jayden woke up a few months ago with a pain in his stomach that wouldn’t seem to go away, his life changed forever. He was diagnosed days later with Stage 2A Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and learned he had tumors throughout his body, including one on his heart and one wrapped around his spinal cord.

Jayden is one of approximately 16,000 children who will be diagnosed with cancer this year in the U.S. This means that every hour, two children are learning that their childhood as they know it is over and they now have to start fighting for their life.

The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation’s mission is to win the battle against cancer so that children like Jayden can live healthy, cancer-free lives. We welcome you to join the fight by donating today to help fund advancements in research being conducted at Children’s of Alabama and other leading institutions around the country.
